At Central Flooring Services, we install custom-fitted steel kerbs to strengthen and increase the longevity of our resin flooring systems.
Why do you need a steel kerb?
The point where a resin floor meets a wall is its weakest point. It is here that it is most susceptible to impact damage, and once a crack forms, it will eventually start ‘snaking’ across the floor. If repairs are not carried out quickly, the entire system could be compromised and need to be replaced. A steel kerb strengthens your resin floor around the edges, increasing overall durability and reducing the risk of damage.
The join between wall and floor is a high-risk area for build-ups of dirt and harmful bacteria. This is a problem for sterile and hygienic environments – such as kitchens, laboratories, and hospitals – and can lead to a widespread contamination of the flooring surface.
Stainless steel kerbs eliminate any gap between the wall and floor that may harbour bacteria, and as a sterile material itself, makes the flooring system easier to clean and maintain.
