Our Client

The Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) is one of the biggest and busiest NHS Trusts in the country, serving the one million residents of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Why they got in touch

The floor in the Plant room was looking tired and in need of minor repairs to make sure the area was tanked and sealed, as the pipework would frequently leak. We’ve worked for multiple companies employed by the hospital – so it was great to be at the forefront of the estates list of contractors for this resin flooring project.

Central Flooring has worked for the LRI for around twelve years, completing around 20 projects. We were originally recommended by previous sub-contractors working on site.

What we installed

The LRI was looking for a floor finish that would give them a sealed environment. But they wanted a vibrant colour too, that would easily show dirt and leaks to help them with the future cleaning of the Plant room.

Product:

Vebro polyurethane SC coating. We recommended this product because it’s designed with high chemical resistance and durability.

Preparation:

We carried out a mechanical diamond grind (MDG) to all the main areas of the floor, making sure the concrete surface was level and smooth.

Project Size:

The floor area was approximately 200m² across the two Plant rooms.

Project Duration:

We completed the project in 4-days – and on time.
