Kier construction is one of the biggest names in the industry. They work on some of the UK’s major construction projects and initiatives – and are also the UK’s leading regional builder, delivering critical social infrastructure such as schools and hospitals.
Why they got in touch
We’ve worked with Kier Construction for several years on all sorts of projects. For this one, we were working in the new border control buildings at Portsmouth International Port. The Central team installed resin flooring throughout the entire space.
Altrocrete HF polyurethane screed, which is perfect for creating a textured finish for heavy duty spaces. It’s durable and slip resistant as well as being resistant to a wide range of chemicals including organic acids found in foodstuffs – so ideal for this food processing facility.
Concrete shot-blasting to properly prepare for the screed.
Floor space 2300m² + 1200 linear metres of coving.
About the project
At Central, we have installation teams dotted across the UK, enabling us to reduce our carbon footprint and costs for the client. Our team included a site supervisor, four experienced operatives and a contracts manager who visited site each week to check on progress.
We finished the project on time – and only had one small snag to deal with. Kier Construction were more than happy – plus, we picked up a few extra projects along the way.
